Terra Nova Natural Beta Carotene Complex is a dietary supplement with natural Beta Carotene from algae, in combination with carotenoids. When taken orally it is a precursor of Vitamin A and for this reason it is often referred to as "provitamin A". The conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A takes place in the liver, kidneys and intestinal mucosa.
Vitamin A contributes to the normal metabolism of iron, to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes, to the maintenance of skin health, to the maintenance of normal vision, and to the proper functioning of the immune system. *
