Health Aid Zinc Citrate 100 mg is a dietary supplement that contains high purity zinc citrate, for faster absorption, and provides 30 mg of elemental zinc per tablet.
It is found in various forms such as: Picolinate Zinc, Zinc Sulfate, Citric Zinc, Orotate Zinc, Gluconate Zinc, Zinc Acetate, Zinc Glycerol, Oxide.
As our body does not have a zinc storage system, we must receive it regularly either from foods (almonds, eggs, sardines, salmon, beef and cheese), or from dietary supplements.
Zinc is an extremely important metal for the body as it contributes to:
- normal cognitive function and the normal functioning of the immune system *
- normal synthesis of DNA, cell division and the protection of cells from oxidative stress *

Dosage

Contraindications
Avoid concomitant use of zinc with antibiotics or cortisone-containing medicines. Long-term use of high doses of zinc (> 25mg) may affect copper and iron levels in the body.
Side effects
Doses of zinc above 200mg can be toxic and cause nausea and vomiting.
