Frezyderm Macrogol Adults 3350 is a medical device for the symptomatic treatment of constipation in teenagers and adults.
It promotes peristalsis and contributes to adequate bowel emptying in order to treat constipation and prevent fecal impaction.
It enhances rehydration and softens the stool, facilitating defecation.
Accelerates intestinal transit, stimulating peristalsis.
It is not absorbed or metabolized in the intestine.
It does not disturb the balance of electrolytes, as long as it is swallowed with the appropriate dose of liquid.
Suitable for teenagers over 12 years old and adults.
Dosage
Adults and children over 12 years old: 1-4 sachets daily.
Instructions of use
Each sachet is dissolved in 125 ml of water or other liquids and drunk immediately afterwards.
In the case of taking the minimum dose (1 sachet per day), it is recommended to take the product in the morning.
For larger doses, it should be divided into morning and evening.
The dosage may be increased or decreased depending on the individual response to treatment, with the aim of enhancing the regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum dose usually does not exceed 4 sachets per day.
Contraindications
Do not use in case of:
- known hypersensitivity to one or more components
- paralytic ileus
- intestinal perforation, obstruction or stricture
- severe inflammatory bowel disease (eg ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, toxic megacolon)
The use of laxatives is contraindicated in acute abdominal pain, abdominal pain of unknown etiology, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown etiology or in case of severe dehydration.
Side effects
Some gastrointestinal disturbances (abdominal pain, flatulence, abdominal distension, nausea, faecal incontinence) may occur.
Diarrhea is a consequence of taking an overdose and can be avoided by reducing the intake dose.
Hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have been rarely reported as a result of using products containing macrogol. In this case, stop using the product and consult your doctor.
Cautions
Use in children must be done under the direct supervision of an adult.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the package and if the package is opened or damaged.
The product may reduce the intestinal transit time and thus the absorption of orally administered drugs. For this reason, it is recommended that oral medications be taken at least 2 hours after taking the product.
In case of adverse reactions, stop using the product and consult your doctor.
Storage
Keep the product in a dry, cool place up to 25°C (77°F), and protect it from light. Inappropriate storage conditions, such as prolonged exposure to sunlight, high temperature, humidity, and freezing conditions, may result in alterations to the product.
Keep out of reach of children.
