Athomer salt sachets are intended for use with the Athomer nasal washer. The Athomer Nasal Wash System is a natural healing method for cleansing the nasal cavity. During its use, saline water is poured from one nostril and drained from the other. The entire nasal cavity is flushed and the user has complete control of the pressure-flow.
Dissolving one Athomer sachet in 250 ml of distilled or boiled tap water creates an Isotonic solution, which helps to effectively and safely decongest the nasal cavity and can be used prophylactically daily. Dissolving two Athomer sachets creates a hypertonic solution, suitable for relieving the symptoms of rhinosinusitis and chronic or seasonal allergies.
Instructions of use
If you are using the appliance for the first time, wash each part with soap and rinse thoroughly with water. Wash your hands thoroughly and then fill the bottle up to 250ml with distilled water or alternatively tap water that has been boiled for 5 minutes to sterilize.
Use 1 sachet of ATHOMER to make isotonic solution or 2 sachets of ATHOMER for hypertonic solution and shake well with the cap closed. Wait until the solution is lukewarm and then use it.
• Bend over the sink and tilt your head to one side.
• Insert the tip of the bottle into the nostril and gently push the bottle until it starts to flow from the opposite nostril.
• While squeezing the bottle, keep your mouth open at the same time and breathe (through the mouth) normally throughout the nasal wash.
• Continue gentle pressure on the bottle until 120ml for adults and 60ml for children.
• Follow the same instructions for use for the opposite nostril.
• Immediately after rinsing, tilt your head left and right alternately to drain the rest of the solution from the nasal cavities and then gently blow your nose.
