The skin of our lips is thinner than the skin of the rest of the body. Cracked lips are a common problem in the winter months where cold and dry air cause severe dehydration and dryness. However, because the lips are very sensitive, they need protection and hydration all year round!

Tips for proper lip care

There are two important steps in a lip care routine: hydration and exfoliation.

• Lip balm should be the basis of daily lip care. Many of them contain sun protection and soft color to choose the one that suits you.
•  Once or twice a week, use an exfoliating product (lip scrub) to remove chapped skin. Then moisturize your lips well with a lip product and you will immediately see your lips more velvety.
• For further treatment, after exfoliation, you can apply a lip mask, which offers a silky texture and gives volume to the lips.
• If you want more fleshy lips, there are moisturizing balms that give an immediate effect of re-thickening, offering softness and natural volume.

A daily lip care routine can help keep your lips soft and smooth. Look for a lip balm with ingredients such as shea butter, honey, propolis or natural oils and apply it every time you feel your lips are dry.
