Now Sun-E 400 IU is a dietary supplement that provides 400IU of naturally occurring Vitamin E produced from sunflower oil (natural vitamin E) in the form of 'd'-alpha tocopherol which is the most closely related to vitamin E obtained from the food.
Tocopherols are a group of fat-soluble chemical compounds of similar chemical structure (homologous compounds) with antioxidant properties. Intake from the human body through food is essential. Tocopherols are collectively known as vitamin E and are found in vegetable oils and generally in plant foods. Tocopherols are distinguished by the letters of the Greek alphabet in: α, β, γ, δ, ε, ζ and η. The most important of these is α-tocopherol (d-alpha-tocopherol), as it is characterized by better absorption and bioavailability and with in this form the majority of clinical trials have been conducted.
Vitamin E is one of the most important vitamins as it helps protect cells from oxidative stress.*
