Now Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is a high quality, unprocessed, nutritious and edible oil derived from the coconut kernel (Cocos nucifera). Virgin Coconut Oil is trans oil-free and one of the richest plant sources of medium chain triglycerides (MCT).
MCTs are digested by saliva and gastric fluids and absorbed directly by the intestine, then ending up in the liver where much of it is burned as fuel. Very little is stored as fat. Once absorbed by the intestinal wall, they are transported through the lymphatic system and integrated with lipoprotein transporters, then excreted into the bloodstream and distributed throughout the body.
