ITF Iofolen Preconception is a dietary supplement with vitamins (folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin D), iodine and zinc, specially designed for women of childbearing potential. It contributes to the woman's reproductive health and normal fertility.
Supplementation of folic acid (400 mcg) increases levels in the maternal boy. Low levels of folic acid are a risk factor in developing neural tube defects in the developing fetus. Zinc contributes to normal fertility and reproduction. (The above are official health claims by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)). Iodine is essential for the normal functioning of the nervous system, and its requirements during pregnancy are increased.
