Who doesn't want a glowing and flawless skin? Brown and age spots result from an excess production of melanin or skin pigment.
Although the main causative factor is sun radiation, there are several other reasons for a person to obtain spots. Spots are usually brown, grey or even black. They are located in areas that are exposed to the sun like face, neck and hands. Most often occur in fair complexion skins or in older people. However, their appearance is independent of aging, and can even occur even in younger ages, like adolescents.
The spots are divided roughly into four categories:

- Due to hormonal changes
Exposure of sensitive skin types to ultraviolet radiation results in the creation of dark spots due to hyperpigmentation. They appear independently of age and skin type.
Imperfections and inflamed pimples may when exposed to UV radiation to locally discolorated if there is no proper use of sunscreen. They usually occur in people with acne-prone skin and are most common in young women.
Pregnancy (chloasma or pregnancy mask), hormonal replacement therapy and contraseptives cause strong hormonal changes to the body. The combination of the action of these hormones along with sun, may cause spots on the skin.
Therapy of spots require patience and time. Techniques mainly used by dermatologist are cryotherapy, chemical peeling palmitic light and the laser. Creams mainly aim to reduce existing spots and protect their reappearance. They offer chromatic uniformity. Bleaching agents used in creams are typically aimed at inhibiting the activity of an enzyme responsible for melanin production (tyrokinasi) or deposition of melanin in keratinocytes.

Retinaldehyde derives from vitamin A, which accelerates cellular metabolism and also helps to discoloration of the skin. The action of Retinaldehyde is the renewal of skin cells, thereby improving brightness and impove the appearance of dark spots.
It is the active form of vitamin B3, which has the capacity to inhibit the transfer of melanin in epidermal keratinocytes. It helps skin pigmentation, while also and facial bleeching.
Is a group of compounds (AHA) used for various purposes in dermocosmetic products derived primarily from fruits. Glycolic acid, is among the most known hydroxyl acids. It has been found to help in the removal of dead skin cells, reduce skin oiliness while helping to discoloration of spots due to aging or sun.
Substance derived from fungi and inhibits the synthesis of melanin in the skin. The result is the melanin content in the cells to be reduced, improving the hyperpigmentation of the skin.
In order to prevent the appearance of black and brown spots, it is advisable to be used sunscreens and face creams specially designed for skins which tends to create spots and freckles.
