Information - Cordyceps
Cordyceps is a fungus that has been widely used in Chinese and Tibetan medicine since ancient times. It is found in the mountains of China and is also known as caterpillar fungus, while it includes about 600 species.
Properties of Cordyceps
Its use has been linked to many health benefits, including boosting the immune system and increasing stimulation & energy.
People take cordyceps more often to boost the body's defenses, to improve their athletic performance and sexual health, as well as in cases of kidney disorders & liver problems. However, there is insufficient scientific evidence to support these uses.
Recommended Daily Intake
There is no recommended daily intake for cordyceps, while a daily intake of 3-6 g for up to 1 year is considered safe for most people.
Precautions, interactions and side effects
When taken in large doses, it can cause mild disorders such as diarrhea, constipation and stomach upset.
It is contraindicated in people receiving anticoagulant therapy, having 1 or more autoimmune diseases, as well as during pregnancy & lactation.
