Did you know that oral health can also affect the overall health of the body? That’s why we should never forget to take care of our oral hygiene. By oral hygiene we mean all the actions for the care of the mouth, such as the removal of the microbial plaque and the preservation of an environment that does not favor the manifestation of diseases of the teeth, gums and the oral cavity in general.
Good oral hygiene combined with proper nutrition and regular visits to the dentist are the three most important factors in maintaining oral health.

Basic Oral Hygiene Instructions

  • Brush your teeth at least twice a day.
  • Learn to brush your teeth properly for at least 3 minutes.
  • You prefer a medium or soft toothbrush. Change it every 3 months.
  • Use fluoride toothpastes and mouthwashes.
  • Use dental floss at least once a day.
  • Use interdental brushes if you have cases, dental bridges, implants or braces.
  • Avoid foods that damage the teeth.
  • Don’t forget professional dental cleaning every 6 months by your dentist.

In case you want natural whitening, we suggest three very easy homemade recipes:

Baking soda & lemon juice

Lemons are high in citric acid, which acts as a kind of natural bleach. Make a paste by mixing a teaspoon of lemon juice with enough baking soda and use it to whiten your teeth. Baking soda has a mild abrasive effect (making it ideal for removing stains) and is very alkaline, helping to neutralize the natural acidity of lemon juice.

Strawberries

Brushing your teeth with mashed strawberries is a great way to whiten your teeth at home, because the acidic composition of this fruit acts as a mild whitening agent. Just melt 1-2 ripe strawberries, put the pulp in the toothbrush and brush your teeth normally. When you’re done, rinse your teeth with a mixture that you make by pouring a little baking soda (sodium carbonate) into water to reduce the acidity in your mouth and protect your teeth from possible damage.

Coconut oil

Use coconut oil as a mouthwash, ie keep it in your mouth for a few minutes and then rinse. Coconut oil is considered a natural bleach, and research has shown that it helps reduce plaque formation in the teeth and also helps prevent gum disease.

Proper daily care with the right products

Regarding brushing your teeth, we suggest you try the Mastident toothpaste with Mastic and Basil, which is ideal for daily oral hygiene. Mastic, known for its antimicrobial properties, reduces plaque formation, caries and bad breath. Basil with astringent, tonic properties promotes gum health and offers a cool taste. Mastident contains a combination of herbal ingredients such as myrrh, sage, aloe and betaine, which help reduce gingivitis, have healing properties and protect tooth sensitivity.

In addition, you can try the natural oral Mastident mouthwash with Mastic & Basil. Mastic, known for its antimicrobial properties, reduces plaque formation, caries and bad breath. Basil with astringent, tonic properties promotes gum health and offers a cool taste.

Give yourself the most beautiful smile!
