Efi Daskalou

PhD, MSc, BSc Dietitian - Nutritionist

Dietitian-Nutritionist graduated from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of ATEI Thessaloniki (2008), with postgraduate studies in the Department of Chemistry, University of Ioannina (2010 - Nutrition Specialization), holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Medical School, AUTH (2015 - Clinical Nutrition & Metabolism Specialization).

Since 2008 works as a Dietitian-Nutritionist, with experience in dietary planning and nutrition counseling for physiological and pathological conditions both in children and adults. He has also worked as a food technologist at the National Reference Laboratory for residues in foods of animal origin. Since 2013 she is an associate of vita4you.gr, edits the texts and product descriptions of the website based on official health claims to provide valid information while providing counseling and information for optimal and safe use of nutritional supplements, while she is responsible for the "Ask an Expert Column". 

She has participated in international and Greek research programs on child nutrition and nutritional status assessment [WHO European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative (COSI), Malnutrition and outcome in hospitalized children in Europe], and in drug-food interactions evaluation using specialized software. Her research work has been presented and published in national and international scientific conferences and journals and has translated nutrition manuals for hereditary metabolic diseases [Australasian Society for Inborn Errors of Metabolism (ASIEM) Handbook, International Pompe Association: Nutrition and Diet Therapy in Pompe Disease] and she is an author in health and nutrition information blogs.

Her areas of interest and specialization include Nutrition Assessment methodology, Child Nutrition, and Nutritional Supplements. She continues her scientific education and training by attending conferences and e-courses in Greece and abroad.
