Acne – pores

Some cosmetics and mainly makeup because of their composition clog pores, creating black spots and pores. In particular, if there is oily to combination skin, then acne may be worsen. Usually oil free makeup and powders are suitable for oily / mixed type of skin while mousse and more creamy textures are best applied to dry / very dry skin.

The majority of cosmetic products contain parabens (methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben and ethylparaben) which are used as preservatives of growth of harmful bacteria and mold. However, allergic reactions to the skin may often occur, causing irritation, pruritus and rashes.

Tip: Read carefully the labels of cosmetics and choose dermatologically tested products.

Eye irritation

Cosmetics for the eyes are widely used. However, the skin in the eye area is very sensitive. Many times, it has been observed that some cosmetics cause irritation in the eyelashes (blepharitis) or hematoma in the cephalic vessels of the eyes. This usually happens when they contain substances that irritate the skin of the eye area or because they have non-stable texture resulting in entering into the eye causing irritation, pruritus and dryness.

Tip: If you notice irritation or sensitivity, stop using the product. Many times the very sensitive eyelids need dermatologically tested, organic and natural cosmetics. Choose cosmetics with a firm texture that do not melt with sweat and water.
