Allergies can be life-threatening?

An allergy is the localized or generalized body reaction against a relatively harmless substance (allergen) and is related to hyperactivity or malfunction of the immune system. Food intolerance is due to the lack of certain enzymes, resulting body not to metabolize properly some substances thus cause some unpleasant symptoms.

Truth. Allergies can be triggered by any substance, without necessarily to proexist any sensitivity or family history to allergies. Allergens may relate to environmental substances or food components. The most common food allergens are eggs, nuts, shellfish, cereals, dairy, strawberries, tomatoes and honey.
