Lamberts Folic Acid is a dietary supplement of folic acid. Folic acid is an important water-soluble vitamin B complex that is not stored for a long time in the body, which necessitates its dietary intake. Dietary sources of folic acid are mainly green leafy vegetables and whole grains.
It is a key element in the synthesis of genetic information (DNA, RNA), playing an essential role in cell proliferation. It is necessary during the first trimester of pregnancy to properly develop the fetal nervous system. Folic acid deficiency during pregnancy leads to nervous system malformation. For this reason, supplementation of folic acid is recommended even before a planned pregnancy, in order to avoid relative deficiency.
Folic acid contributes to the development of maternal tissues during pregnancy, normal amino acid synthesis, normal blood formation, normal homocysteine metabolism, normal psychological function, normal immune function, fatigue and tiredness reduction. It also has a role in the process of cell division. *
Folic acid works synergistically with iron. In cases of megaloblastic anemia, vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency coexist, where supplemental administration of both is suggested. The presence of low levels of folic acid in adults is linked to the development of heart disease, as folic acid is involved in the regulation of homocysteine, a substance involved in vascular endothelial damage and atherosclerotic plaques.

1 tablet daily.

Contraindications
A large intake of folic acid may mask the signs and symptoms of Vitamin B12 deficiency (Pernicious Anaemia).

The following list of allergens are excluded: Wheat, Barley, Soya, Eggs, Milk (and milk products), Lactose, Nuts, Sulphites, Celery, Fish, Shellfish, Yeast and Gluten containing ingredients.

Keep the product in a dry, cool place up to 25°C (77°F), and protect it from light. Inappropriate storage conditions, such as prolonged exposure to sunlight, high temperature, humidity, and freezing conditions, may result in alterations to the product.
