Doctor's Formulas Glucoprotect is a dietary supplement for glycosylation and limiting the formation of AGEs (advanced advanced sweetening products).
Glucosylation is a phenomenon that occurs when blood sugar, glucose exceeds normal limits, binds to proteins, mainly hemoglobin and collagen, forming compounds that are harmful to tissues.
Doctor's Formulas Glucoprotect is a formula fortified with carnosine and alpha lipoic acid, two ingredients that slow down the process of glycosylation in the body, and consequently reduce its complications. Carnosine is a natural component of the body, found in muscles and the brain. It reacts with sugars (glucose) before they attach to the collagen and elastin fibers, and creates the glycosylated carnosine, which is naturally eliminated by the body. Alpha lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant that protects against cell damage. In addition, the Glucoprotect formula contains vitamin B1, which works synergistically with carnosine and lipoic acid.
The microcrystalline cellulose and the pre-gelatinized corn starch, which belong to the complex carbohydrates (polysaccharides). They do not cause a sharp rise in sugar and therefore insulin, because they have a low glycemic index. Therefore, the production of the so-called end products of advanced glycosylation (Advanced Glycation End Products or AGEs) is not triggered, which are deposited in the various organs, from the skin to the vessels, causing damage and aging. **
