Lamberts Soya Lecithin 1200 mg is a dietary supplement with soy lecithin. Lecithin belongs to the phospholipids and is one of the richest sources of 2 essential nutrients: choline and inositol.
These two nutrients are lipotropic agents, playing an important role in the emulsification of fats and their hepatic catabolism. Lecithin is the main dietary source of choline in the form of phosphatidylcholine. Phosphatidylcholine is then converted to choline in the body, making it one of the most important B vitamins.
In addition to their role in fat metabolism, lecithin and choline are used by the body as constituents of cell membranes and to facilitate the passage of fats through them. Finally, choline is a precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which is extremely important for brain function.
Choline contributes to normal lipid metabolism, to maintaining normal liver function, to normal homocysteine metabolism. *
