What is GLA?
Gamma linoleic acid or GLA is an omega-6 fatty acid produced in the body from the essential linolenic acid. Its nutritional sources are evening primrose oil, borage oil and black currant.
Health benefits
GLA has an anti-inflammatory effect and helps conditions such as arthritis. It also soothes skin irritations, e.g. eczema and dermatitis and relieves the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome/ PMS.

No recommended daily intake has been set.
Side effects, interactions and precautions for use
It should be avoided by hypertensive, hemophiliacs, as well as by patients taking anticoagulants.
