Solgar Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) is a tonic herb for the female reproductive system, which has long been used in China, Korea and Japan as a spice, tonic for the body.
It is especially useful in cases of premenstrual tension, abnormal menstruation and in reducing the symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes. In particular, a study base appears to exhibit estrogenic activity (in a test tube) and stimulate MCF-7 cell proliferation. Ferulic acid, one of the components of Dong quai, may play an important role in the treatment of osteoarthritis (further studies are needed to support this claim). *
