Lamberts Hawthorn is a dietary supplement containing herb hawthorn. The Crataegus Laevigata hawthorn belongs to the Roseaceae family and is a shrub species.
Hawthorn's active ingredients contain a number of flavonoids, including rutin and proanthocyanidins. These components are found in large quantities on the leaves and flowers of Hawthorn. The Lamberts Hawthorn extract is obtained from the upper parts of the plant. It has also been standardized as to its flavonoid content (2%) making it a particularly potent product.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Committee for Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) have approved the use of hawthorn as a traditional herbal remedy to relieve symptoms of temporary heart complaints related to nervousness, such as palpitations, after serious conditions have been excluded by a medical doctor. They can also be used to relieve mild symptoms of mental stress and to aid sleep.
Dosage
1 tablet daily.
Instructions of use
Preferably to be taken after a meal.
Contraindications
Do not take concomitant medications with cardiovascular diseases (antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, anticoagulant, antiplatelet).
Cautions
Do not take during pregnancy and lactation.
Storage
Keep the product in a dry, cool place up to 25°C (77°F), and protect it from light. Inappropriate storage conditions, such as prolonged exposure to sunlight, high temperature, humidity, and freezing conditions, may result in alterations to the product.
Keep out of reach of children.
