Solgar Biotin 1000 μg is a biotin supplement. Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin belonging to the vitamin B complex.
You will find it with the name Vitamin B7 (Vit H) in foods such as liver, egg, soy, beans and peanuts, while in lower content in meat, whole grains and dairy.
Deficiency can occur during pregnancy, or in people who consume large amounts of raw egg white (because it contains avidin that binds biotin), as well as in chronic parenteral nutrition.
It is involved in cell growth, fatty acid production, carbohydrate metabolism, protein fats, and the utilization of other vitamin B vitamins. Biotin is essential for maintaining hair, nail and skin health and additionally for the normal functioning of the nervous system, and physiological psychological function. *
