Bausch & Lomb Ocuvite Complete is a dietary supplement with vitamins, zinc, combined with lutein, zeaxanthin and Omega 3 fatty acids for eye and vision health.
Zinc together with Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA, DHA) contribute to the maintenance of normal vision. Vitamins C, E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. *
Ocuvite Complete contains the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, derived from calendula flowers (Tagetes erecta L.).
Lutein is a pigment that belongs to the group of carotenoids. It is found in large concentrations in dark green leafy vegetables. In fact, along with zeaxanthin, they have been linked to eye health and specifically protection against cataracts and macular degeneration.
The macula is the area right in the center of the retina of the eye and is responsible for both acute vision and most color vision. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) refers to a set of chronic degenerative diseases that affect the retina of the eye and lead to loss of central vision.
Several studies have shown that vitamins C, E as well as the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin are protective against the onset and progression of cataracts. Also, high blood levels of lutein and zeaxanthin appear to protect the retina.
Dosage
2 capsules a day.
Instructions of use
It is recommended to be taken after a meal.
Contraindications
The simultaneous use of anticoagulant drugs is contraindicated.
