Uva Ursi for urinary tract infections

  Arctostaphylos – Uva Ursi belongs to the Ericaceae family. The parts of the plant that are used for therapeutic purposes are the leaves that are cropped during the summer. Arctostaphylos is a small evergreen bush with white and pink flowers. Its fruits are deep red and shiny. It is grown in cold climates of Northern America, in Europe and in Asia. The basic drastic ingredients are glycosides, flavonoids and tannins.

Indications

  1. Urinary tract infections, such as cystitis, urethritis, pyelitis and disuria. Acts as a natural antiseptic and protects the bladder with a film. Also is suitable for vaginal infections in the form of vaginal wash.
  2. Prostatitis
  3. Kidney and gallstones.

   For urinary tract infections can be combined with Agropyron repens and Achillea millefolium.

   Its use is recommended for 7-15 days. Can cause nausea in people with gastric sensitivity. Do not use during pregnancy. Lactation or in children up to 12 years old. Αs a nutritional supplement is available in form of tablets and tincture(2-3 ml x 3 times daily).
